Chronic Headache
What is the root cause of your nagging chronic headache? How much longer do you have to put up with it? Would it be too late if you let the symptoms go on without finding out the cause?
Headache danger signs
- New onset of sudden, severe headaches.
- Progressively worse headache, improved with painkiller but recurs after stopping the medication.
- Positional headaches, worse with sitting or lying down.
- Projectile vomiting upon waking up.
- Headache that increases with coughing, sneezing, or straining.
- Blurred and/or double vision.
- Weakness or numbness of the body.
- Behavioral changes.
- Fever, stiff neck, headache, and neck pain when stooping.
- Seizure.
Risk factors that may affect headaches secondary to a brain condition
- Taking hormonal pills.
- Taking vitamin A or certain antibiotics.
- Rapid weight gain or loss.
- You have preexisting cancer.
- You sustain a head injury.
Is a headache following COVID-19 vaccination life-threatening?
- If you do not experience any preceding warning signs, take a painkiller and observe the symptoms. Most of the time, it is just a mild side effect of the vaccination, not any brain abnormalities.
- There are reports of headaches due to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST), but this is very rare. You may seek medical attention from a specialty doctor for a detailed physical examination.
